Midjourney processes payments through Stripe, so most billing failures originate with your bank rather than with Midjourney.
Declined card on renewal
Common causes: a 3-D Secure challenge that was never completed, a foreign-transaction block, an expired card, or a prepaid card that does not support recurring charges.
Fix it by opening midjourney.com → Manage Sub → Payment method, adding a working card, then retrying the failed invoice manually. See Midjourney payment failed or card declined for the full sequence.
You were charged twice
A pending authorisation often appears alongside the settled charge and drops off within five business days. If two settled charges remain after a week, raise a billing ticket with both invoice IDs.
Charged after cancelling
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. If a charge landed after you cancelled, check the cancellation timestamp on the invoice — cancelling minutes before renewal frequently misses the cut-off. Full walkthrough: How to cancel a Midjourney subscription.
Lost access mid-cycle
A failed renewal downgrades the account but never deletes your gallery. Restore access by resubscribing; your image history returns immediately.
